Effect of Irrigation on Intercropping Systems of Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) with Pea (Pisum sativum L.)

چکیده

Intercropping is an old and commonly used agricultural practice involves the cultivation of two or more crops in same area land at time may improve yield, use environmental resources, product quality, soil health. The objective present study was to effect water availability wheat-pea intercrops using agronomic physiological characteristics. experiment conducted farm Aristotle University Thessaloniki, Greece during growing seasons 2017–2018 2018–2019 different cultivars from pea (Isard Olympos) wheat (Yecora E Elissavet) irrigation regimes. increased grain yield affected most characteristics that were studied. In terms total Land Equivalent Ratio (LER) there a advantage over monocrops, which indicates efficiency intercropping for resources. Both cultivars, cultivar Olympos their indicated high adaptation capacity rainfed conditions, whereas Isard its performed better under irrigation. Therefore, with uses resources environment efficiently can be dry conditions higher yield.

Spatial and Temporal Influences on the Cell-Specific Distribution of Glycine Decarboxylase in Leaves of Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) and Pea (Pisum sativum L.).

The distribution of glycine decarboxylase (GDC) in leaves of pea (Pisum sativum L.) and wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) has been investigated using immunogold labeling of the P-protein subunit of the GDC complex. Mitochondria in photosynthetic mesophyll cells were densely labeled, whereas those in nonphotosynthetic vascular parenchyma and epidermal cells were only weakly labeled. In pea leaves the...

Role of nitrogen content of pea (Pisum sativum L.) on pea aphid (Acyrthosiphon pisum Harris) establishment

The leaf nitrogen content is generally accepted as an indicator of food quality and as a factor affecting host selection by phytophagous insects. The alate pea aphids (Acyrthosiphon pisum Harris, Aphididae) were given a choice among non-nodulated pea plants (Pisum sativum L.) supplied with one of four nitrate-N levels (0, 3, 15 and 30 mM). When whole plants were exposed to aphids for 7 days, th...

Pea (Pisum sativum L.) Growth Mutants

This review is devoted to the Pisum sativum L. growth mutants. These mutants are presented by several groups of plants. The first group is characterized by short internodes (dwarf mutants le, na, lk, la, lh, ls) or by elongated internodes (slender mutant sln). The stem growth of mutants of both types (dwarf and slender) is controlled by hormones (GA and IAA) in the stem or in seeds. Mutants cha...

The wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) leaf proteome.

The wheat leaf proteome was mapped and partially characterized to function as a comparative template for future wheat research. In total, 404 proteins were visualized, and 277 of these were selected for analysis based on reproducibility and relative quantity. Using a combination of protein and expressed sequence tag database searching, 142 proteins were putatively identified with an identificat...

Properties of an Aminotransferase of Pea (Pisum sativum L.).

A transaminase (aminotransferase, EC 2.6.1) fraction was partially purified from shoot tips of pea (Pisum sativum L. cv. Alaska) seedlings. With alpha-ketoglutarate as co-substrate, the enzyme transaminated the following aromatic amino acids: d,l-tryptophan, d,l-tyrosine, and d,l-phenylalanine, as well as the following aliphatic amino acids: d,l-alanine, d,l-methionine, and d,l-leucine. Of othe...
